Original Sin for the 21st Century

The old story of original sin has been remodelled to suit a modern climate, quite literally. There is a new litany of guilt being taught to the masses: “This earth is broken because of you. You overconsumed, you drove your car, you flew on holiday. You did everything we enticed you to do, and now you must feel guilty for it.”

We are taught this because if you’re feeling guilty, you’re feeling that same concept of sin that was indoctrinated into our ancestors, even if it is versed in a different lexicon. This guilt will disempower you and you will not allow yourself close to the threshold with the sacred in our world, which is in the Earth and in us. We will not allow ourselves close to that threshold, because of the guilt we now carry buried deep within us, imprinted into our magnetic field. We believe we are not worthy of that connection because we are sinners.

You have been taught to believe that you should feel ashamed, feel guilty, feel as though the problems of the world are your fault, and your fault alone. But that is the opposite of the truth. Yes, we have participated. Yes, we have become the willing minds, arms and legs of a world view that is destructive and not creative. But that wasn’t what we were built for. We carry within us a matrix that is aching to be aligned with our true potential, of becoming creative beings of harmony, living in this beautiful world, contributing to the flourishing of all life, including our own. Instead of living and creating each day a new hell on earth, heaven on earth will become our experience.

You are the dream of this worlds becoming.

The antidote to that guilt is opening to our connection to Earth. It will dissolve that imprint.

We will see we never needed to feel guilty, we only needed to connect and remember what we have been brainwashed to forget: that we are inseparable from nature and a valued part of it. From that place of connection and remembering, we will know exactly how to help, how to learn, how to grow, and live in harmony with this world. We will become the solution we cry out for.  

We will look back and wonder “How could we have forgotten? How could we have ever been persuaded to see the world in a way that affected us so badly?”

You are the dream of this worlds becoming. You are the hope that this Earth wished into being. You may not feel it, but you are not yet experiencing a connection to the fullness of your being. If you were able to feel that, you would see the potential that lies within you and the offering that waits to be given to the future of this planet. You are not an accident. You were not a slip in the evolutionary lucky dip. You were intended. The seed of humanity was planted at the moment this Earth came into being. You are the growth of that seed and the gift you will give is very special.

Open to your heart. Ground yourself in the reality of this Earth being. Open your mind to a world of loving connection and you will see a different view within you. You will see the potential waiting to be made manifest.

So, go on your way without guilt of being human. Let no man's voice persuade you that you are anything less than the presence of infinite mind and your gifts will be your present to the Earth.

So, open to that connection. Let it remind you of the beauty and the potential of what and who you are. Never think yourself small enough to affect a change. The best change you can offer comes from deep within you. It comes through your connection, your communion with Earth, and the community of those around you.
